Back from Yosemite
We’re back! The weather was great and the house was perfect. Our GPS sent us 45 min out of the way Friday so we didn’t end up getting there until 11:30 pm. Roads weren’t bad but the snow started to fall when we rolled in. There was plenty snow left from the weekend before and that night we got a dusting of a couple inches which was just perfect to get a little white on the branches. Our house was in the park about a mile past tunnel view so we started there Saturday morning after making a big breakfast. There were plenty of clouds in the sky but no rain or snow. The temp was actually warm enough that we didn’t need jackets which was nice. After Tunnel View we headed to Bridalviel then down into the valley. We did the loop then came back to the house to make fajitas and watch Sherlock Holmes on the laptop. I took a long hot bath and read “Lamb” by Christopher Moore before bed. Sunday we woke up, had breakfast, packed up and I was home by 2:30 pm. It was so nice to see Meg. Hopefully next time she’ll come along.

Place to Stay
Daddy called and he’s reserved our place in the park so we’re pretty much set. I hope to make it to these spots while there:
Swinging Bridge, El Capitan, The Chapel, Cooks Meadow, Sentinel Bridge,Ahwahnee Meadow, Tunnel View, and the trail behind the Ahwahnee
I was looking at a blog post (http://www.craigwolf.com/news/2008/02/photographing-yosemite-in-winter.html) and these seem to be the best spots in winter. I still need to pack and get my camera stuff together but things are moving in the right direction.

Gearing up for Yosemite
I’m not sure where we’re staying since Dad’s in class right now and can’t check his email to make the reservations but I’m hoping it will be here:
We stayed in a house through these people a couple years ago and it was awesome. It’s right inside the park and only a few short miles from the valley. I’m so freakin’ excited. I took a half day Friday so I can get everything loaded up and head to Pleasenton to get Daddy. I think he usually get’s off pretty early on Friday so hopefully we can get to the store for food and get out of the Bay Area pretty fast. I’m taking Meg’s Rebel for him to borrow since he forgot his camera. Did I mention being excited?
